Use case
DVB-C and QAM cable network monitoring
Watch QAM carriers and services across your cable plant, 24/7.
The problem
Why it happens
In a cable network, a fault in the headend, an amplifier or an optical node shows up as complaints from one street. Operators need to know which carrier and which service failed, and where.
Sounds familiar?
- Complaints clustered in one area
- Intermittent loss of a few QAM carriers
- Service names or EPG missing on subscriber boxes
The KVARTA way
How we solve it
The DVB Stream Monitor supports ITU-T J.83 annexes A and C, including DVB-C, and includes a QAM analyzer. It measures MER, BER, C/N and level for every carrier in its scan list and checks the services inside. Put one in the headend and others at the far end of the network.
What is checked
- ITU-T J.83 annex A and C
- QAM analyzer
- MER, BER, C/N, level
- Service and table checks
