Use case
FM radio and RDS monitoring
Monitor FM level, quality and RDS at the transmitter or in the coverage area.
The problem
Why it happens
A radio network can have dozens of transmitters and frequencies. A failing transmitter, a lost link or a broken RDS feed is easy to miss unless someone is listening.
Sounds familiar?
- A frequency goes off air overnight
- RDS station name or traffic flag stops updating
- Signal quality drops in one area
The KVARTA way
How we solve it
The FM Monitor scans a set list of FM channels through its antenna input and checks level, C/N, SNR and RDS. It sends e-mail and SNMP alarms when something is wrong. AM monitoring is available as an option.
What is checked
- Level, C/N and SNR
- RDS decoding
- Band scanning
- Optional AM monitoring

Common questions
Can one unit check several stations?
Yes. It monitors a list of channels in sequence and checks each one against your limits.
