Use case
DVB-S/S2 satellite downlink monitoring
Know when a satellite feed degrades before it reaches your headend.
The problem
Why it happens
Many headends and IPTV platforms take their channels from satellite. Rain fade, a misaligned dish or a transponder change upstream breaks every channel that depends on that feed.
Sounds familiar?
- Several channels fail together after a storm
- A provider moves a service and nobody updates the receivers
- No history of signal levels to show the provider
The KVARTA way
How we solve it
The DVB Stream Monitor receives DVB-S/S2 alongside terrestrial, cable and IPTV. It measures the RF signal and checks every service inside the multiplex. For installers, the portable TV meters measure DVB-S/S2 on site while the dish is being aligned.
What is checked
- DVB-S/S2 RF measurements
- Service and PID alarms
- MPEG TS tables
- Alarm history
